About Improvement Proposals

What are Improvement Proposals?

Improvement Proposals are the first layer of community governance. They allow community members to propose improvements on the Community Platform, comment and upvote them. At the end of each proposal period, active proposals with the highest number of upvotes are moved to "In Consideration" status to be reviewed by the development team.

Proposals are not directives

Improvement Proposals are not directives. Some may be in conflict with project's core principles, regulations, other proposals or may prove to be ineffective, redundant or otherwise problematic. The long term goal is to move larger portions of decision making to the community, at this stage, the development team is required to review and moderate all proposals to ensure the project's health and sustainability.

How to create a proposal

Improvement Proposals can be created here.
To create a proposal, you need to have a Web3 wallet connected to the platform. Currently a stake of minimum 100 A0T is required to create a proposal. This prevents spam and ensures that proposals are created by serious community members. The initial stake by the creator counts the same as upvotes. All stakes are returned. Read more about staking A0T.
Please read the terms before creating a proposal.

How to upvote a proposal

Select one of the active proposals and click on the "Upvote" button. To upvote a proposal, you need to have a Web3 wallet connected to the platform.
Upvoting is done by staking A0T tokens. All stakes are returned. Read more about staking A0T. Select the amount of A0T tokens you want to stake to upvote the proposal and confirm the signature on the blockchain. Upvote stakes are combined with the creator's stake to determine the final stake at the end of the proposal period.

Proposal period

Currently the proposal period is set to 1 calendar month. At the 1st day of each month, two proposals with the highest combined stakes (creator + upvoters) are moved to "In Consideration" status to be reviewed by the development team. Length of the proposal period and number of proposals may change in the future based the time and resources required to implement potential changes.
