Staking Terms & Conditions
Last updated: January 2026
1. Introduction
These Staking Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your participation in the A0T token staking program offered by the Agent Zero ecosystem ("Platform"). By staking A0T tokens, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Nature of A0T Token
A0T is a utility token designed to provide access to features and services within the Agent Zero ecosystem. A0T is not intended to be a security, investment contract, or financial instrument of any kind.
- A0T tokens do not represent equity, ownership, or any claim to profits or assets.
- A0T tokens do not guarantee any financial return or income.
- The value of A0T tokens may fluctuate and may become worthless.
- Past performance of A0T tokens is not indicative of future results.
3. Staking Mechanism
Staking involves locking your A0T tokens in a smart contract deployed on the Base blockchain (Ethereum L2). By staking, you agree to the following:
- Staked tokens are transferred to and held by the staking smart contract.
- You retain ownership of staked tokens, but they cannot be transferred or sold while staked.
- Unstaking returns your tokens to your wallet, subject to any applicable lock periods.
- Staking transactions are recorded on the blockchain and are irreversible once confirmed.
4. Time-Lock Periods
You may choose to lock your staked tokens for a specified duration to increase your staking score multiplier.
- Lock periods range from 0 (no lock) to 5 years maximum.
- Once a lock period is selected and confirmed, it cannot be shortened or cancelled.
- Tokens remain locked until the specified unlock date, regardless of market conditions or personal circumstances.
- The Platform is not responsible for any losses incurred due to your inability to access locked tokens.
5. Staking Benefits
Staking A0T tokens provides access to Platform features proportional to your staking score:
- Governance: Voting rights on community proposals.
- Proposals: Ability to create improvement proposals.
- API Access: Quota for the Venice AI proxy service.
The availability, scope, and quotas of these benefits may change at any time based on Platform development, governance decisions, or technical requirements.
6. No Guarantees
The Platform makes no guarantees regarding:
- The future value or liquidity of A0T tokens.
- The continued availability of any Platform features or services.
- The security or reliability of third-party services (wallets, blockchains, exchanges).
- Any specific returns, income, or financial benefits from staking.
7. Risks
You acknowledge and accept the following risks associated with staking:
- Smart Contract Risk: Smart contracts may contain bugs or vulnerabilities that could result in loss of tokens.
- Blockchain Risk: Network congestion, forks, or failures may affect staking operations.
- Market Risk: Token values may decline significantly, including to zero.
- Regulatory Risk: Changes in laws or regulations may affect your ability to stake or use A0T tokens.
- Operational Risk: Platform downtime or technical issues may temporarily prevent access to staking features.
- Key Management Risk: Loss of your wallet private keys results in permanent loss of access to your tokens.
8. User Responsibilities
As a user of the staking service, you are responsible for:
- Securing your wallet and private keys.
- Verifying all transaction details before confirming.
- Understanding the implications of time-lock periods before selecting them.
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
- Conducting your own research and due diligence before staking.
- Reporting any suspicious activity or vulnerabilities to the Platform.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Platform, its developers, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the staking service, including but not limited to:
- Loss of tokens due to smart contract vulnerabilities or exploits.
- Loss of value of staked tokens.
- Inability to unstake tokens during lock periods.
- Technical failures or service interruptions.
- Actions of third parties, including hackers or malicious actors.
10. Amendments
These Terms may be updated or modified at any time. Changes will be communicated through the Platform. Your continued use of the staking service after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
